SEECLOPS

SeeClops is a portable camera obscura capable of accommodating three viewers at a time. By ducking beneath the black-out clothe, the participant enters into an intimate experience of viewing the surrounding landscape in a 360 degree panoramic. The 'real-time' image is projected onto a flat, table-top screen.  The unit is lightweight, easily transported, and can be quickly assembled and disassembled in the field. This project was a commission by the New Belgium Brewing Company in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2010. SeeClops has been used in various urban and park settings as a device for activating public space and initiating engagement with the community.
