Our designs incorporate elements of surprise, interaction, and creativity to ensure that every space we create is fun. Whether it’s a whimsical play area for children, an immersive exhibit, or a public art installation, we bring a sense of wonder to every project. 

By blending storytelling, sensory stimulation, and hands-on experiences, we create environments that spark imagination and encourage people of all ages to participate, explore, and play.

Field Magnet Design LLC is the art and design studio of Rusty Lamer. Combining a broad range of skills and experiences, he creates site-specific, sculptural installations in the landscape. His interest in science, engineering, and architecture balance his artistic nature and playful gestures to form engaging, multi-sensory, interactive spaces. Rusty employs a hybrid of digital and analog techniques, merging computer-aided design with traditional, physical methods of building. 

Rusty often collaborates with other artists, writers, architects, and members of the community. The hands-on process of making is critical to the creative development of his projects. He embraces the sense of discovery, inspiration, problem solving and chaos that occurs throughout the creative process.

He holds a BFA in Sculpture from the Maine College of Art, and an MLA from the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley.
