Lunar Phases

Lunar Phases is a donor recognition wall for the Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland, California. It's a dynamic natural light display using dichroic acrylic plates. The project was completed in the Spring of 2015.

Installed at the entrance to the Center, this artwork recognizes its community of donors while evoking space exploration with curved black panels in relief and materials derived from the face plates in NASA's spacesuits. The colors reflected from these plates shift depending on the angle of view, creating a strange, altered sensation within the surrounding space.
