OPTICAL DEVICES AT LONGWOOD GARDENS
I was commissioned by Longwood Gardens to design and build three interactive sculptures for the 2008 summer garden season. The Prismascope, Arborscope, and Spectrascope were installed upon viewing platforms within treehouse and provided the public with an enhanced and fragmented view of the gardens. Accompanying each piece was an educational plaque informing visitors of the optical technique involved and an explanation of its historical use.
This project was a collaboration with landscape architect, Chip Sullivan.
